STEAM Program
At Learning City Academy we place more emphasis on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) to ensure that today’s students will be prepared for elementary school and the careers of tomorrow. Additionally, practicing important 21st century skills including collaboration, critical thinking, problem solving, and digital literacy are part of our daily curricula.
Project-based learning units encourage student to be creative by imagining, inventing, implementing, and improving their own ideas while collaborating with others. Project-based centers can be established to address all manner of themes that include opportunities to perform STEAM-related tasks.
Each STEAM lesson units include suggested science-, technology-, engineering-, and math-based activities. The project-based process that drives the activities in each unit is a key component to developing 21st century skills as well as competency in the STEAM subject areas. Once learned, these skills become life skills that can be used in any situation.
At Learning City Academy we encourage our learners to become Readers, Mathematicians, Scientists, Engineers, Artists, and Musicians by having fun while playing and learning.
